Leading Change
Grit Trainer Paula Alter was guest facilitator on the Staff College / National Development Team for Inclusion programme on Leading Change in SEND and AP.
The programme is about developing leaders in the Special Education Needs environment, recognising how to advocate, engage, listen and lead within the dynamics of (often conflicting) perspectives and needs.
Our workshop was really well received and helped provoke thoughts about the biases and assumptions we can unwittingly bring to our listening unless we pro-actively develop our awareness. And now we’re exploring the idea of delivering a longer session for this group so watch this space…
Recognising Grit
We’re always thrilled when partners publicly recognise our work and the impact it makes. The Edge Hill University Widening Access and Student Success 2024-25 Impact Report features our Students of Colour programme and quotes a student who describes it as “an incredible and empowering experience.” Check out the page on Grit here.
Meanwhile, over on Times Higher Education, colleagues at Nottingham Trent University have written about how Welcome Workshops, co-created by Grit, set first-year students up to thrive at university. Give it a read!
